Details

The White Rugosa Rose (Rosa rugosa) is a tough, old-fashioned rose that has earned its place in gardens for generations with its pure white single-petal flowers and intoxicating old-rose fragrance. Blooming from late spring through summer, followed by ornamental hips in fall, it provides three seasons of beauty from a single, reliable shrub.

Material: Main body is a live Rugosa Rose shrub with dense, hardy branching and textured, glossy green wrinkled foliage. Auxiliary includes nutrient-rich nursery potting soil and a complete, healthy root system. Accessories include a durable planting container and comprehensive care guide.

Size: Mature height 1200-1800mm, crown spread 1200-1800mm, forming a substantial, full shrub.

Color: Flowers: white; Hips: orange-red in fall; Foliage: green.

Age Group: Adults.

Gender: Unisex.

Additional Features: Hardy to USDA Zone 2 (extreme cold tolerance), thrives in full sun to partial shade; exceptional disease resistance with virtually no pest problems; tolerates salt spray, coastal conditions, and wind; strongly fragrant flowers are excellent for fresh cut arrangements and indoor enjoyment; ornamental hips add fall and winter interest and attract birds; strong root system anchors soil and prevents erosion on slopes; self-cleaning variety requires no deadheading; one of the most trouble-free, long-lived flowering shrubs available, perfect for gardeners of all experience levels.

Care Instructions: Plant in full sun to partial shade in well-drained soil — tolerates sandy, poor, and coastal soils exceptionally well. Water deeply once a week during the first growing season; established plants are highly drought and salt tolerant. No deadheading required. Prune in early spring to remove old canes and shape the shrub. Avoid heavy fertilizing, which can reduce flowering; a light application of balanced fertilizer in spring is sufficient.
